By no means do I claim to be a guitar guru, I'm some way off. I have broken through invisible ceilings that most guitar players find them trapped under and along the way collected a series of techniques to do so. I still have limitations to overcome. Here are some questions I am usually asked when it comes to guitar teaching:
Am I suitable to take guitar lessons with you?
I welcome absolute beginners or anyone who has had a hard time taking to the acoustic guitar. My advice is don't give up, persistence, practice and patience is the only thing that is stopping you from failing. You'll see after a small number of lessons you will be able to play songs and generally be confident with your acoustic guitar.
How much is a guitar lesson?
£18 for a 1 hour + 10mins acoustic guitar lesson, typically guitar teachers will teach for 45mins and can charge more. Ready to book a lesson with Charlie? guitar lesson on-line booking facility. Where are you based? Chesterton, Cambridge in Cambridgeshire, UK. Home visits are considered if you are within a reasonable commute. |

Have you ever used a teacher before?
Yes, over the course of the 3 and half years I have been playing I have been a student to 3 teachers. They all helped to be the player that I am now. I can't recommend getting a teacher highly enough, it really does wonders for your guitar abilities. I would recommend if you can afford it to invest in your new founded skill once a week, if cost is an issue then consider every couple of weeks. How are your guitar lessons structured?
We all learn in different ways, I'm confident that I will find the most appropriate training method for you. A lesson with me is tailored around you specific needs. Some of the topics within the lesson depending on how far you have progressed are:

Can you help me with singing as well?
Yes, I can help you with your singing (if that is something you also wish to develop) it would be no extra cost and part of the lesson. I also do one-to-one singing lessons without the guitar for anyone wanting to go deeper into the singing side of things (so no guitar and just focusing on singing, same price as the guitar lesson).
Your own private personalised guitar learning page
In addition to the simple home assignment exercises, you will have access to your own personal area on the the website which details what topics you have covered with me so far, so you won't ever lose any information we have covered. If, for whatever reason you take a break from the guitar your personal learning area page will remain active for you in case you resume playing the guitar again.

You've only been playing for 3 and a half years, what qualifies you to teach?
My ability to teach and pitch to your level level and style is totally unique. I break down sequences on the guitar at an incredibly slow pace for you to mimic them. I will show you the techniques I have been using, that I've learned from various sources or just what I have naturally acquired. As to teaching, I already have a few students that have accelerated their guitar skills with me. So, what are you waiting for? why not book a lesson.
Do you have any student testimonials?
Sure, the testimonial page has some of students that I am teaching.
Can you get guitars that small like the one in your picture above?
No, no that is in fact a ukulele, (well spotted) it's a picture from a restaurant in Queenstown, New Zealand 2011.

And remember...
All that is really required from you that you invest at least a couple of hours a week (or more ideally) to the guitar and soon enough it will come to you. Sometimes sooner than you think, and sometimes without you realising! Once we overcome hurdles such as the making each individual finger on your hands think as their own separate entity then learning the guitar will become even easier for you.
